How They Met

Tim and Ashley met the year of 2007 at high school in Cherry Hill, New Jersey during rehearsals for “It’s a Wonderful Life”.  Ashley was in the cast and Tim was part of the stage crew.  They met when their mutual friend, and now best man Don, suggested they all go out for pizza together.  After nine years, separate colleges, Ashley’s internship at Disney World, Tim’s moving to Savannah, and graduating from police academy…whew…they finally tied the knot.

The Proposal

Christmas 2015 was their first Christmas together in Savannah.  On Christmas Eve they were opening presents and Tim insisted that Ashley open her card from him last.  As presents were being opened, Ashley kept asking about the card but Tim insisted, “not yet”.  Finally came time for the card to be opened.  Ashley opened it and read it. It kept mentioning “three words” and different ways to say, “I love you”.  Tim had written “how about four more words.”  When Ashley looked up Tim was on one knee and had the ring box out.

The Wedding

They finally tied the knot on April 7, 2017 in Savannah, Georgia.  The beautiful ceremony took place at The Marshal House with friends and family from several states. There is one special thing I want to share with you about the big hat you’ll see Tim wearing and holding throughout the photos.  Tim lost his dad at a very young age but his mother has done a remarkable job at keeping the memories of his dad very much alive.  The hat belonged to Tim’s dad so a way to have his dad present at the wedding, he carried his dad’s hat down the isle and sat it next to his mom.  I bet that hat has a lot of great stories to pass on through Tim and the generations to come.

It was my privilege to be a part of this loving, energetic, kindhearted family whom I had never met until April 7.  And what a privilege to photograph one of Savannah’s finest own police officer’s and his beautiful bride.  Thank you Tim and Ashley.  You will forever be a part of my life.
