Guest Bedroom Ideas
When I’m not shooting a wedding or families, I’m decorating my home. I can’t afford to hire a professional so the only way I can get what I want is to do it myself. First and foremost, for this to be successful, you have to have a true passion for it. Hopefully, this guestroom will be an inspiration to you or at least an encouragement to get started.
Just to let you know, I always start shopping at the least expensive store and then work my way up. I find all of my decorations at the following places: Ross, HomeGoods, Kirkland’s, Target, Hobby Lobby, TJmaxx, Marshall’s and Steinmart.I looked everywhere for bedding and couldn’t find anything that I fell in love with so I ordered this particular one from Soft Surroundings online. The bedskirt was one I already had (Steinmart)I love using the “unexpected” on my walls. I screwed in a small picture hanger on the back and randomly placed them on the floor first. Once I got it the way I liked it, I hung it! LOVE TEXTURESMost of the walls in my home are “white-white” (flat) so that I can add a pop of color and change my decor. This is much easier than repainting every time I change my color scheme. It’s very rare that I like the knobs that come with my furniture so I make a trip to Hobby Lobby on the week they have their knobs for 50% off and save a ton. It really personalizes the furniture with the decor.
Over the past 13 years, I bet I’ve painted this armoire 6 different colors. I store a small tv with movies for the grandchildren to watch their favorite movies when they visit us. Every green plant you’ll see me use is artificial; as long as it looks real. (I am the worst at keeping real plants alive) I use lanterns for everything but candles. Here, I’ve got my collection of seashells displayed.Again, artificial greenery and more seashells displayed on a cake platter. Underneath, I used two very old books that belonged to our family decades ago. This bedroom is so big I had enough room to add a small sofa for my guests to relax on or just sit their “stuff” on during their visit. (This use to be in my photography studio but I didn’t want to get rid of it.) Before getting rid of something, see if it can be used in another room for a different function and don’t be afraid to change the paint colors. These end tables and the legs on this sofa use to be silver. Now that I’m using a touch of brass in my house, I spray painted the tables and hand painted the legs.
The Historic River Street in Savannah, Georgia reins as the perfect backdrop for Savannah weddings at The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa. The elegant hotel provides spectacular grounds for any destination wedding. It’s spacious outdoors accommodates any size guest list and is a dreamy location overlooking the first city of Georgia. I’m sure these reasons are why Lindsey and Chad chose their wedding to take place at The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa.
Lindsey and Chad first met on New Years Day 2015 and three weeks later they had their first date. They both love to travel every chance they get but it was home where Chad chose to pop the question.
I was honored to be chosen Chad & Lindsey’s wedding photographer (Jerina Mac Photography) and find myself rubbing shoulders among some of the top Savannah Wedding Vendors. All About You Entertainment, Kato Floral Designs, and Savannah Rum Runners Bakery to name a few.
Enjoy the moments I captured of Chad and Lindsey’s Wedding.
How They Met
Brett and Andrea both worked at CVS Pharmacy for two years. They developed a friendship and later turned into a romance. It was like a light switch turning on and both knew they belonged together.
It was December 13, 2015. Andrea’s mother had come to visit before Christmas. Andrea LOVES Christmas and of course, she already had her tree up and decorated. Andrea and her mother had been Christmas shopping all day and when they got back home, they walked in, Andrea said,” Brett, look at the Christmas decoration mom bought for the apartment. It’s so cute!” He hesitated to answer but then said, “I bought a Christmas decoration today too.” Andrea was in shock! Brett never bought Christmas decorations…ever. He proceeded to tell her that it was on the tree. So they went over to the tree (he did so great…he even put the ornament low so he could get down on one knee.) It was a crystal angel ornament with its hands in the praying position and on the hands was an engagement ring.

How They Met
Collin and Casey started dating in 2010 at the age of 16 when they met in high school at North Cobb Christian. They dated throughout high school and continued dating while attending college together at Kennesaw State University.
On February 20, 2016, Casey woke up for a mother/daughter tea at the St. Regis. The waiter brought her iPad with a video which Collin had made for her. After watching the video, Casey was given a “clue” to go to the next location to watch the next video. After several clues and videos, the last video led Casey out to the pool area where Collin was waiting with these huge “MARRY ME” letters floating in the pool. All of their closest friends and family were on the balcony watching over this madly in love couple as Collin popped the question.
The White Oaks Barn which is located in Dahlonega, Georgia was such a beautiful backdrop for Collin and Casey’s wedding. The weather was perfect, the rolling mountains were picturesque and the wedding party was so cute, I just wanted to bring all of them home with me. You should look at The White Oaks Barn website and take a look for yourself. Enjoy the photos and feel free to lose yourselves in the fairytale love story of Casey and Collin.
This godly couple from Colorado celebrated their destination wedding in the beautiful city of Savannah, Georgia on Nov. 27, 2016. The quaint ceremony and reception was held at Brockington Hall Event Venue across from Forsyth Park. Before the ceremony, Mandy strolled through the squares on the Old Towne Trolly as she prepared for the first look in Warren Square with her future husband, Luke. What a special treat to witness a young couple seeing one another for the first time, dressed in their tux and wedding gown on their wedding day. After a few private minutes, the bride and groom (and me), ride to Chatham Square where we shot gorgeous family and wedding party photos.
Please enjoy their wedding day with me as you view a few of their photos on such a blessed day.
How is it that I’ve attended well over 150 weddings in the past 6 years and I still get as “giddy” as the bride and groom on their wedding day. I met Nick and Eired several months ago when I shot their engagement session in downtown, Savannah. Their wedding day finally got here and on Nov. 12, they tied the knot in the historic downtown Savannah, Ga. at 10 Downing. This Tampa, Florida couple shared their vows in front of friends and family from all across the USA.
Brittany was invited to go on “the family vacation” with Josh and his family. It was their first day and they were in Magic Kingdom at Disney World. Brittany told everyone she really wanted a caricature done and so after a few rides they decided to get one done together. Josh sat down and did his part and then Brittany”s turn came to pose. When she stood up to look at the final piece it was him proposing to her. How sweet is that!! Happiest place on earth and always will be for Brittany and Josh.
