Blog: Andrew & Megan | Savannah Wedding

I love blogging on the weddings I shoot because it’s writing about love and family.  Every wedding has a couple getting married.  Every wedding has guests and family attending.  Every wedding has a ceremony and reception.  You’d think that after shooting well over 150 weddings, I could shoot in my sleep and not get all that excited about the wedding day.  Not so!  It’s quite the opposite.  I compare it to when I use to sing in front of hundreds and sometimes thousands of people at a time.  I may have performed 20 times in a given year, practiced everyday, had dress rehearsals, got new outfits to wear but when it was time for the curtain to open and a new audience was in front of me, there was always a rush of adrenalin.  No audience was ever the same.  No song was ever sung the exact same way (everybody that knows me knows I like to adlib and sing with my own flare).  That’s how I shoot.  Each couple is their own, every guest list has someone that “hams” it up for the photographer. There is never a dull moment.

On January 28, I had the privilege of shooting Andrew and Megan’s wedding downtown Savannah, Georgia at the Embassy Suites.  The wedding didn’t start until after dark so I new I had to bring out the “creative wand” and make these indoor shots look just as beautiful as outdoors.  I also was aware that Megan’s grandmother had passed away the week before and I needed to be sensitive to the family’s needs.  After the ceremony,  we drove a few blocks down to the Knights of Columbus where the reception took place.  I loved the historical structure of the building and also loved that they had a “live” band.  The Vista’s was a band  out of Charleston, South Carolina and could play just about anything you requested (I wanted so bad to grab that mike and sing a Whitney Houston song but it helped that I had my camera glued to my hands.)

Their Story

Andrew and Megan met on November 30, 2012 at Murphy’s Law Pub.  A very cliché moment happened when Andrew saw Megan walked up to her and told her he had to meet her.  Fast forward 3 years;  Andrew and Megan found themselves standing in Telfair Square on January 27, 2016.  Andrew was on one knee and a ring in his hand.

Family Lifestyle Photo Session

This fall has been booked solid with family sessions.  I want to share a few of them with you.  I had so much fun with this family, I just wanted to go home with them!  Their energy and enthusiasm was so contagious and the love for their four legged family members was so sweet.  My most favorite part of the shoot though was their precious daughter.  She was a cross between Shirley Temple and “Buffy” off of Family Affair (both TV shows from the 1960’s so you millennials stop scratching your heads saying who??)

Enjoy this lifestyle photo session.

Couple’s Lifestyle Session

This has to be the sweetest Christmas present this season.  Matt really thought out his Christmas gift for his girlfriend, Katlyn.  He’s also a good listener (take note gentlemen).  He’s heard her say on many occasions that she’d love to have a professional photo session.  Matt “listened” and acted on it right away.   No better timing than  to be a Christmas gift to his girlfriend of 2 years.  Matt contacted me and we scheduled the perfect date and “wala”…we made it happen.

Enjoy this lifestyle photo session that took place at Woodlawn Plantation.

Blog: Luke & Mandy |Jerina Mac Photography

This godly couple from Colorado celebrated their destination wedding in the beautiful city of Savannah, Georgia on Nov. 27, 2016.  The quaint ceremony and reception was held at Brockington Hall Event Venue across from Forsyth Park. Before the ceremony,  Mandy strolled through the squares on the Old Towne Trolly as she prepared for the first look in Warren Square with her future husband, Luke.  What a special treat to witness a young couple seeing one another for the first time, dressed in their tux and wedding gown on their wedding day.  After a few private minutes, the bride and groom (and me), ride to Chatham Square where we shot gorgeous family and wedding party photos.

Please enjoy their wedding day with me as you view a few of their photos on such a blessed day.

The First Meet

Russell and Emily met through friends in January of 2013; started talking and became very close but they didn’t meet in person until July 2015. There after,  they were finally able to begin dating and fell in love.

The Proposal

It was on June 18, 2016 on Factors Walk  in the historic downtown Savannah, Georgia.

OUR LOVE STORY (according to Brittany)

These two “cutie-pies” met 3 years ago at an event in Savannah, Georgia. Brittany noticed this guy (her future husband) staring at her the entire time.  She kept telling her friend, “I hope he doesn’t come over here.”  Oh well, he walks over and asked to buy Brittany a drink.  Brittany style, she said “no thank you, I can buy my own drink.” (go Brittany!).   Several months passed until they saw each other again.  He asked her to go to breakfast with him.  Brittany style, she said “that isn’t a real date” (isn’t she cute!)  It took a while, but they finally had their “real” date.  Now, they’re on their “real date” for life.

The Proposal

It took place at the infamous Forsyth Park in Savannah, Georgia with friends and family.  Justin hired two guitarists to play, “Thinking Out Loud”.  (Sounds romantic to me.)
